Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Dr Patrice Motsepe has increased the annual financial support to each of the 54 member associations from $200,000 to $700,000.
The funding increase is aimed at strengthening football administration across the continent and providing national football federations with additional resources to improve their operations and financial stability.
The initiative is also expected to support football development programmes, improve administrative capacity and enhance the ability of member associations to invest in the growth of the game in their respective countries.
With the new allocation, each member association will receive an additional $500,000 annually, representing a substantial increase in CAF’s financial commitment to national federations.
The move reflects Motsepe’s continued emphasis on supporting African football development through increased financial resources and improved institutional capacity.
The funding is expected to benefit football development across CAF’s 54 member associations, although the specific implementation arrangements and distribution conditions will determine how the additional resources are utilised.
