OBAGIE-NEVBUOSA (IKPOBA-OKHA) – The Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obagie-Nevbuosa Commmunity, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, Mr Igie Osayande has been killed and his remains set ablaze by thugs allegedly working for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The thugs who were allegedly loyal to one Osamede Edorodion had in the wake of the the general election invaded the polling unit in the community for the purpose of disrupting the ongoing election.
Trouble was said to have started when Edorodion and the PDP Youth Leader, Terry Wilfred allegedly led the thugs and stormed the polling unit, demanding to be accredited after accreditation had closed.
The refusal by INEC officials to accredited them did not go down well with them, following which, after receiving a phone call, from yet to be identified caller, Edorodion spearheaded an onslaught on the election materials at the unit.
This then culminated in disruption of the election process, ballot box snatching and free for all fight, with many people sustaining various degrees of injuries.
Meanwhile, the Police in Benin City, Edo State have launched a manhunt for Wilfred who is generally regarded as prime suspect in the murder of the APC Youth Leader
