A female student identified as Aghimien Favour is reportedly on the run after security operatives of the Edo state police command had commenced investigation into a secret affair of lesbianism by some female students of a secondary school (names withheld) in the boarding house in Benin city.
The Nigerian Observer learned that Aghimien Favour and four others namely Josephine Agho ,Ada George ,Rosemary Martins and Ngozi Chukwuma were secretly involved in the sacrilegious act without others knowing about the unlawful act.
According to confirmed sources who spoke on conditions of anonymity, the girls had been friends from their days in primary school(all girls school) where they were exposed to the evil practice of lesbianism till secondary as well.
It was gathered that the girls who were caught in the past and made to appear before a disciplinary panel but were eventually pardoned and handed severe punishments as they were considered as minors .
However several years after ,the group of girls were again caught sometime in 2011 by a vigilant house master in the boarding house and an arrest was made as the police was invited by the school authority to arrest and conduct investigation into the case against the girls
The Nigerian Observer gathered that the girls were arrested and detained but were however released to their respective parents with a promise to always report at the police station during the course of investigation.
According to a source at the police station, the three girls who had been informed of the grievous consequences of the allegations of lesbianism against them which could attract several years of imprisonment if convicted, decided to abscond and runaway without appearing at the police station.
An officer who pleaded anonymity told the Nigerian Observer that pending the completion of the case ,the Edo state police command was already preparing to take the case against girls to court for hearing before they absconded and ran away to an undisclosed location.
A statement made available to the Nigerian Observer urged any members of the public with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the fleeing girls to come forward to the police station for a handsome reward.
