BENIN CITY- The Police authorities in Edo State have declared one Jolly Idehen Osarumwense ‘m’ wanted over the death of his girlfriend, Dolly Oghogho who the police alleged was used for ritual by Jolly.

This was contained in a statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Peter Ogboi on behalf of the State Commissioner of Police ,CP Muktar Abass yesterday in Benin City, the Edo State Capital.

The Police alleged that the now at large Jolly used his girlfriend for ritual purposes and lied that the late Dolly died from the consumption of pregnancy terminating traditional concussion.

DSP Ogboi disclosed that Jolly Idehen Osarumwense, an orphan with no sibling was last seen sometimes in 2006, however appealed to members of the public who may have useful information that could lead to the arrest of the fleeing Jolly ,adding that #1m has been set outside by the command as financial benefit for such informant ,as well as treating the information with strict confidentiality

In a twist ,an eye withness who spoke to our crime correspondent on the condition of anonymity absorbed Jolly Idehen Osarumwense of the allegation ,pointing out that the said Jolly was just being used as scape goat in the issue.

She informed that trouble started when the said Jolly Idehen Osarumwense who is a butcher and beef seller started dating the daughter of a popular transporter in Benin City , “Oghogho Motors” a relationship ,she alleged was not supported by parents and siblings of the deceased Dolly, especially as she Dolly ,was scooped to have been the only daughter of the family.

The source narrated that Dolly who before her death allegedly gave money she tricked from her father being a wealth man to her boyfriend Jolly to start his business ,noting that ,subsequently ,Dolly mistakenly became pregnant for Jolly

She added that in learning about the pregnancy of his girlfriend ,Jolly advised Dolly who is popularly known at home as Naomi to keep the pregnancy, thereby claiming responsibility of the unborn child

It was also gathered that Dolly who was a student of University of Benin ,but was leaving with her boyfriend Jolly over fear of her people decided to take traditional pregnancy terminating concussion in a bid to terminatevthe pregnancy without the consent of her boyfriend.

A situation ,according to the source prompted the call of Jolly by a close door neighbour simply identified as Josephine when the deceased was bleeding profusely ,while Jolly was at his place of work.

It was scooped further ,that Jolly hurriedly rushed Dolly his girlfriend to a private hospital named Osayi Hospital around Upper Sakponba Road where she was referred to Central Hospital but unknown to Jolly that his girlfriend was already dead as she was pronounced Dead On Arrival(DOA)at the Central Hospital ,Benin City.

The deceased uncle according to multiple sources who was informed of Dolly ‘s excessive bleeding on arriving the hospital and subsequently told of the death of Dolly allegedly informed Dolly ‘s male siblings who invaded the hospital in a commando -like -style and whisked away Jolly to somewhere around Edo College deadly moat at Murtala Muhammed way ,Benin City where they unleashed terror on him in a bid to avenged the death of their sister .

Jolly said to be born on May 15,1982 in Port-Harcourt ,Rivers State but raised in Benin City ,the Edo State Capital managed to escaped death by whisker .

Meanwhile Jolly Idehen Osarumwense’s whereabouts who the police and the deceased family have declared manhunt for as at the time of filling this report remain unknown
