A middle aged man, Omoruyi Kelvin Osas who was standing trial for the offence of homosexuality in the Plateau High Court, Jos before he escaped from prison custody is still at large, nine years later.
Sources at the Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Police say that on 15th December 2012, Omoruyi Kelvin Osas was arrested for having sex with another man, Musa.
After his arrest, and based on the police investigations, the matter was charged to court which remanded him at Jos prison.
However on 1st May 2013, Omoruyi Kelvin Osas escaped from prison custody and has not been seen since.
The Police in the state say all efforts to re-arrest Omoruyi Kelvin Osas has since proved abortive.
