A deadly cult group, Black Axe, have abducted father and his 22 years old son in a sleeping community of Iyomon in Ubiaja, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Mr Eze Okoro and his son, Reuben, were abducted at their residence by the group who broke into their home all masked up and armed with dangerous weapons.
The intruders who shot sporadically into the air while the operation lasted, succeeded in whisking away their target to unknown destination.
A resident of the area and family of the victims, Mr Ojie Lamai who narrated the incident to newsmen, stressed that it was like watching an action movie.
Lamai said there have been series of events that eventually led to the abduction of both father and son.
He noted that the predicament of the Eze’s is both political and cult related matter.
According to him, “Reuben’s father is a well known cultist and also a top politician but unfortunately, he chose to renounced his membership of his cult group, Black Axe because of his new life in christ.
“This, his members, didn’t want to hear and had lunched series of attack against his person and family, these are part of events that cumulated into his abduction alongside his son.
“It may interest you to know that he had severally reported the matter to the police but nothing was done to address his complaint before this eventual incident.
“It’s been four days since the incident and whereabout of father and his son is unknown as we speak. The police have only told us that they are on top of the situation.
Meanwhile, the Edo State Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, confirmed the abduction and assured that the perpetrators will be brought to book.
“We have started investigating the matter and from our preliminary investigation, we have come to understand that it has something to do with cultism.
“We will apprehend the people involved and justice will definitely be served,” he stated.
