THE avis and doubting thomas all over the world may find it difficult to believe that there are committed politicians who spend quality time to communicate with God and ask daily for his guidance, direction and protection.
Friends, does it surprise you that there are godly politicians who pray to God regularly to ask for his help and guidance each time they want to embank on major projects?
A politician in the eyes of many does not need God, neither does he ever seek for God’s direction in all his assignment on earth. To them they believe that politicians have a lot of money and so have little or no regard for God.
The philosophy is that poor people take delight in seeking and serving God.
I can categorically attest to the fact that some politicians do seek, serve God and pray genuinely.
Nelson Mandela spent almost twenty seven years in prison. Was it his energy or ability to talk fluently that kept him alive?
Certainly not. Often times his prayers and daily devotion to God coupled with courage to see his dream of a better south Africa kept him alive.
As former President of South Africa he engaged mostly in polices that enhanced the welfare of his people and country. It takes prayer and faith in God to succeed as a politician.
It is a common knowledge that President Goodluck Jonathan serve God genuinely and pray to him always. I have observed him at different occasions that during any major political crises in our country Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan often pray to God, seek help from men of God to help intercede to avert the crises. Former President Olusengun Obansanjo built a church at Aso- rock against all human obstacle.
He also mobilized to build a major cathedral for God in Abuja. Were it not for his effort National Christian’s Worship Centre might have been aborted.
After his tenure, he went to the University to study Theology. A man who has no passion and reverence for God would not embark on these projects.
Abraham Lincoln’s Life was characterized by troubles and pains due to what he suffered or lost. But in the midst of all these lonely moment he prays to God always and seek his direction and help.
Most times the prayers of good politicians are centre mostly on how to leave positive legacies behind. They lean on God to intervene for the country not to break up in their time.
Most politicians who fear God and pray to him always often trust God to grant them wisdom to do what is right always.
They pray to God asking him for grace to implement their dreams and goals for their country.
Politicians who succeed in their political offices do so through God help and prayer, and also with the help of good friends and associates.
Your negative view, condemnation and tongue lashing about political office holders who pray to God, fear him and ask for his direction won’t make politician and deter them from honouring God.
I urge you to pray often for your political leaders to succeed in their political positions. This to a large extends will help them to succeed greatly. One thing you must realize is that there are negative forces that can make politicians derail from his intention for this country and the world at large.
This is why we must team up together to pray for our politicians
