BENIN CITY- The Odionwere of Obah Village Mr. Willy Guobadia has on behalf of his people, appealed to the Crown Prince of Benin Kingdom and Edaiken N’Uselu HRM Amb. Ehenede Erediauwa to call on the Enogie of Obasagbon, HRH Victor Ekighawogho Iyawe to comply with the infallible judgement of the High Court of Justice, that parties to the disputed Omojieship of Obah village should await the decision of the palace on the issue.

In a letter addressed to the Crown Prince, through his counsel, F.O Osadolor (Esq), the Odionwere noted inter alia, that Ipso Facto, Obah Village has no Enogie. It is the customs and traditions, unassailable in Benin Kingdom, that in the absence of an Enogie in any village, the Odionwere is the traditional Head of administration, subject to His Majesty, the Oba of Benin.”

He recalled that the judgement of the High Court of justice, presided over by His Lordship, Justice E.A Edigin on the 24th of June 2016 directed, among others, that “all parties, including the Enogie of Obasagbon Village, HRH Victor Ekighawogho Iyawe should await the decision of the palace on this issue.”
