Motorists travelling along the Benin – Warri Express Road, Wednesday evening, had a harrowing experience as they were held up in traffic for hours following the highway that was made impassable by tankers.

Although as at press time, the cause of their action was unknown, a source told Nigerian Observer that the tanker drivers were protesting the maltreatment meted out on some of their members by the soldiers stationed at the Benin bye-pass, while another source said there was an accident involving a tanker.

Motorists heading to Delta State and beyond as well as those going to Benin City, had to navigate and meander through the bad roads in Ogheghe Community to be able to continue their journey.
