OGAN (ORHIONMWON) – A Group under the aegis of Edo Community Kassel E.V. Germany has donated a housing block of four units eight rooms to Ossiomo Specialist Hospital in Ogan village, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State.

The multi-million naira project is fitted each with kitchen and toilet facilities.

Presenting the 4 units block to the State Commissioner for Health, Dr David Osifo on behalf of the hospital’s management, President of the group, Comrade Osayamen Samson said the gesture was arrived st after a careful observation of some of the buildings in the hospital the last time the group visited and thought it wise to put smiles on the faces of the patients by fixing some of the buildings and helping them in the area of need which is part of the groups social responsibility.

The Germany based Edo community comprises Edo indigenes resident in Kassel Germany.

It was founded in 2002 with the aim to congregate, socialise and give back to their homeland.

Comrade Osayamen Samon, a member of the Community promised on behalf of the President of the Edo Community, Mr. Lando Treasure Eguavoen that they would not relent in achieving the aims and objectives of the group, promising to strive to do more.

He called on government and other well meaning individuals and groups, home and abroad to also come to the aid of the hospital.

Speaking immediately after the commissioning of the housing block, Commissioner commended the group and thanked the members for embarking on such gigantic project at a time when the Nigeria is facing serious economic challenges.

Dr. David Osifo used the occasion to appeal to other well meaning Nigerians, both home and abroad to emulate the Edo Community in Kassel
According to him, “Like I said, the government can’t do it all alone; I’m using this people as a point of contact to others.”

Also speaking, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Igbinigie Osaigie, thanked the Edo Community Germany Kassel for the gesture and everything it has done for the hospital over the years and commended members for their love and care towards the community.

He prayed God to reward them immensely.

On his part, the project executor, Architect Aro Osayimwen displayed some photos showing how the building was before the construction and appreciated the group led by Mr Lando Eguavoen President and Henry Iheukwumere, Secretary for their laudable effort.

It would be recalled that the Edo Community Kassel visited the leprosy inmates home in November 2018 with gift items worth millions of Naira and promised to rebuild some of the dilapidated buildings.
