EWU – Some residents of Ewu Community, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State have been rendered homeless following a fuel tanker explosion that occurred by Uzogholo Junction, on the Benin-Okene Highway.

The fuel laden tanker truck had lost control on the Ewu Hill, causing it to tumbLe, spilling its content, which result in serious inferno that destroyed buildings and properties,, including household materials.

Though no life was lost, the incident left many inhabitants around the junction homeless, causing them to make passionate appeal to the Esan Central Local Government Council chairman, Prof. Waziri Edokpa to come to their aid.

Following the distress call, the Esan Central Council chairman, visited the scene and held discussions with affected families, assuring them of government intervention.

Prof. Edokpa pledged to ensure the intervention of relevant government agencies, including the National Emergency Management Relief Agency (NEMA) and State Emergency Management Reirf Agency (SEMA).

The council boss who was visibly disturbed sympathized with the victims of the inferno, including the families of Mr. Young Okoh and Mr. Samuel Imosili, both of whom wrote to the council on behalf of the victims.

On the entourage of the council chairman were the vice chairman of the council, Hon.Roland Ekata, legislators, and other council officials.
