BENIN CITY – Following their immense contributions to the development and growth of humanity as well as propagating the cultural heritage of the people, the Governors of Edo and Delta States, Benin Monarch, Edo Deputy Governor of Edo state, Mr Godwin Obaseki, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, HRM Oba Eware II, Rt. Hon Philip Shaibu, Chief Dan Orbih and others on Sunday bagged the prestigious 2021 Edo cultural Heritage Heroes Award amid pomp and ceremony.
The Award which was Organised by Fecha Project Foundation in Benin City, the Edo State Capital attracted Creme de la creme in the society.
While Governor Obaseki was awarded Excellent on Scientific Electoral process system and Technophine Governance in Edo, Governor Okowa, Oba Eware II, Comrade Philip Shaibu and Chief Orbih bagged Best Influencer of Edo State politics of the year Award, Excellent on Traditional leadership Affairs Award; Youths Mentorship of the year Award and Humanitarian Service to Edo People of the year Award.
Other awardees were: Alhaji Abdusalmad Rabiu, CEO BUA Group, Obu Cement Plant, Okpella ( sustainable project to community of the year Award), Senator Francis Asekhame Alimikhena, (volunteer to community service of the year Award), Hon. Ogbeide-Iheima (Best Influencer of Edo Culture and Heritage of the year Award)
While Apostle Johnson Suleman, Senior pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, HRM Dr. Osazuwa Iduriage, Enogie of Eyaen and Hon. Eric Osayande were awarded Religious leader with Best Community Development Programme of the year Award, innovation to Community of the Year Award and Innovation to community of the year award respectively.
Senator Mattew Urhoghide, (Community Youth Empowerment of the year Award), Rt. Hon. Francis Okiye, (Learning Programme to Community of the year Award.
While Managing Director of Big Joe motors Nigeria Limited, Comrade Sunny Osayande was bagged the Outstanding Youth of the year Award amid standing ovation.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chief Executive Officer cum Founder of FECHA Project, Prince Alex Eguakhide, said that the ceremony which is annual is aimed at recognising those who have distinguished themselves in the area of societal development.
He opined that the awardees were carefully selected following their unmatched developmental track records to the people.
Responding, Comrade Sunny Osayande, who no doubt has being outstanding in all areas of human endeavor, commended the organisers of the event, assuring that the award would further spurred him to do more for humanity.
