As the world is getting ready to mark the forthcoming 2022 International Anti-Corruption Day, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO), Ehie Global Character Building Initiative (EGCBI), in collaboration with the United Nations (UN), is to hold a World Character-Building Summit to commemorate the auspicious day on December 9, 2022.

With the theme, “The Role of Teachers In Nation-Building,” EGCBI is using the summit to reach its target-audience of children, teenagers and youths across the world through their respective schools’ teachers to crusade for a morally decent society.

The global summit is a part of the vision and mission of EGCBI to shift the paradigm of behaviour from the alarming magnitude of moral decay to a very high and enviable standard of good character among children and youths in the world today.

According to a statement by the President of Ehie Global Character Building Initiative, Nigerian-born United Kingdom-based Pastor Joseph Possibility Omoragbon, “the event will feature talks by eminent international personalities such as an Education Professional, Dr Brian K Jemings from Ghana, a Clinical Psychologist and Author, Dr Passy Amaraegbu (Nigeria), the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Moni Pulo Limited, United Kingdom, Dr Seinye Lulu-Briggs (UK) and the Executive Director, Lela Blossom Schools, Abuja, Mrs Abola Oduwusi (Nigeria).”

Pastor Omoragbon emphasised, “The imperative for the pendulum of character to swing from its unprecedented and worrisome position of behavioural deterioration among the teeming children, teenagers and youths to the apogee of good manners starts now in order to enthrone a new generation of well-cultured human resources for the betterment of any society in the world and all hands must be deck.”

He explained that admission to the international summit is free but the registration of participants is required.

“The summit, scheduled for Saturday December 9, 2022, will commence at 2:00pm UK-time online through zoom,” the cleric concluded.

December 9 of every year is declared as the International Anti-Corruption Day by the United Nations.
