A leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Ugochukwu Solomon in Nkpor-Obosi in Onitsha, Anambra State has been declared wanted along with other members of the group who led a civil unrest against the Nigerian government on September 12th,2014.

The members of the proscribed IPOB led by Ugochukwu Solomon are wanted by the Nigerian Police and Army after its members launched a fierce attack on the Nigerian government over allegations of unverified claims of organ harvesting by the army

IPOB allegedly accused the Nigerian government of unlawful arrest of its members who had protested against activities of the authorities in the South-east .

The heavily armed policemen and the Nigerian Army in a fierce encounter with the IPOB member arrested some members after successfully dispersing members of the group who blocked Nkpor-Obosi road to upper Iweka in Onitsha for several hours using teargas carnisters .

Reports of casualties were recorded during the civil unrest between the IPOB members and the army .

Sources close to members of the IPOB who spoke on condition of anonymity said over 20 members had been arrested while 5 were reported dead .

The source further explained that a manhunt to arrest and apprehend all fleeing members of IPOB in Nkpor-Obosi including its leader Ugochukwu Solomon was in place.

Meanwhile, a statement by the Nigerian Police made available to journalists in Anambra by the Nigerian Police confirmed that the combined team of the Nigerian Police and the army were on the trail of members of the proscribed IPOB in Nkpor-Obosi including its leader, Ugochukwu Solomon for inciting members of the group against government authority in a civil unrest on September 12th,2014.
