BENIN CITY – The Edo State Police Command have declared a young man, Ugbo Elvis wanted.He is wanted in connection with his involvement in same sex activities.
In a statement issued by the State Police Command,Elvis is suspected to be a member of a Lesbian,Gay,Bi-Sexual and Transgender(LGBT) group,that was arrested after a tip-off, in Ekpoma recently.
The police statement, further stated that Elvis escaped with handcuff,while other members of the group are now in Police custody.
Meanwhile,a family member of Elvis told our reporter that,Elvis was not a member of any LGBT group as he was not a homosexual.
The source said that,it was one Osayande Micheal,and some of his friends,that forcefully took Elvis to a location at Ekpoma for initiation into the same sex gang.That was where the police,acting on a tip- off,raided the venue and arrested them.
Ugbo Elvis whereabouts is unknown as at the time of writing this report. The Police according to the statement has widen it’s dragnet to locate Elvis.
Same sex activities i.e,Lesbianism,Gay,Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) is banned in the country and it a Federal Prohibition offense that carries a maximum of fourteen years imprisonment.
