BENIN CITY – Pupils and students of different schools across Edo State resume today, after the Christmas, New Year and Eid El-Malud holidays.
Investigations by The Nigerian OBSERVER yesterday revealed that parents and guardians were making last minute shopping arrangements for their children and wards as it seems they were getting them the necessary items needed for school.
Our reporter also observed a huge influx of passengers at designated Motor Parks attempting to board vehicles to their various destinations outside Benin City, particularly those students who are in boarding schools.
Speaking to our reporter a pupil of Police Children School Benin City, along Siluko Road, Ogida Barracks Amoko Maureen, said she looked forward to resumption, although the holiday was a memorable one, adding that she missed her school and her friends and could not wait to be back to the classroom.
Also speaking, a boarding school student of the Federal Girls College Benin, Loveth Okoro, said she could not wait to be back to school, although he holiday was a well spent and remarkable one as it afforded her the opportunity to have fun with her loved ones and also to spend time with family members.
Although not all schools have resumed in the state as some of the Tertiary Institutions were still on holidays, information at our disposed revealed that most of the institutions in the state and across the country will commence academic work next week following the beginning of a new semester.
Meanwhile, prayers were held for pupils and students in the state yesterday ahead of today’s resumption by the spiritual leader of The Power of God Prayer Ministry, Prophetess Uzoamaka Ezemba.
