BENIN CITY –  Following the landslide victory recorded in the just concluded general elections, especially in the State House of Assembly, elections, the All progressives Congress (APC) women in Edo State yesterday held a thanksgiving/ prayer session in Benin City.
The state chapter of the APC women leader, Dr. Aisosa Amadasun said it was almost impossible for any opposition political party to unseat a sitting government, adding that the thanksgiving became imperative in view of what God Almighty has done in the life of APC family in Edo State and the nation at large.
According to her, the thanksgiving  of the task ahead, just as she prayed God to give the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) the grace and wisdom to meet the peoples yearnings.
“There is every reason to thank God for the victory, especially on the part of the Comrade Governor, the nation at large”, she said.
Also, the Uhunmwode House of Assembly-elect, Hon Elizabeth Ativie described  the thanksgiving / prayers session as apt and unique, pointing out  that Jesus Christ in the holy Bible started and ended with prayers.
“We can not thank God enough  for what God has done for the APC  family by making sure we won overwhelmingly at the state House of Assembly where I happened to be the only woman”, said Hon. Ativie.
Ativie who described the victory as a new dawn in the course of taking Edo State to the next level maintained that she would continue to execute such projects that endered her to the people of her constituency through the ballot box.
She disclosed that she intends to initiate projects yet to be initiated in the history of legislative administration in Edo State.
On her part, the Deputy State women leader, APC, Mrs. Tina Agbarha, acknowledge that God has done more than enough for the APC family, hence the need for the thanksgiving/prayer session to honour God.
“We will continue to celebrate it  because God has really answered us”, said Agbarha.
