BENIN CITY- Piqued by the need to ensure that taxpayers, both individuals/corporate organisations comply with the necessary tax laws in the state, the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) has slammed a notice of non-compliance on Times Ceramic Nigeria Limited operating in Utesi Village, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
Briefing newsmen on the service of non-compliance notice, the Tax Intelligence/ Enforcement Department, EIRS, Mr. Victor Okubor noted that the organisation has been operating in the state without fulfilling its tax obligation to the relevant tax authorities as enshrined in the Personal Income Tax Act as amended.
Okube stated that the service of notice was to serve as a deterrent to other companies/establishments in view of ensuring that the state government was committed towards building road infrastructures as well as creating the enabling environment for business activities to strive.
