LAGOS – The United Kingdom Director of Radio Biafra, Mr Kenneth Osadolor has escaped after he and four other members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a separatist movement in Nigeria were arrested in a suburb of Lagos.
The names of the four members could not be immediately ascertained
They were said to have been arrested when the security personnel stormed their meeting venue.
Osadolor, an indigene of Agbor in Delta State leads the propaganda machinery of IPOB and has been on the wanted list of security agencies for sometime now.
It was gathered that security personnel had, prior to declaring him wanted confiscated his residential house and car stand
It could not be immediately confirmed which of the security agencies affected the arrest, but indications emerged that the officers who carried out the arrest were from the Department of State Services (DSS).
A security personnel who pleaded not to be identified said that they were arrested for the offense of a treasonable felony.
The arrest is part of the clamp down on members of the movement after the leader and arrow head of the movement, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and detained and is presently undergoing trial for a similar offense in a Federal High Court
The arrest of Kanu and subsequent clamp down on members of the movement is part of government measures to whittle members of the Ibo ethnic nationlaties because of sessionist agenda.
As at press time, non of the government security agencies has made any official statement on the matter.
