BENIN CITY- A Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Maj-Gen. Charles Airhiavbere (Rtd) has commended the leadership style of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the party’s executive members in the governance of the state.
Maj-Gen. Airhiavbere gave the commendation yesterday when he paid a farmiliarisation visit to executive members of the All Progressives Congress at the party’s secretariat at Airport Road, Benin City.
Speaking with “The Nigerian Observer” shortly after the visit, Airhiavbere said “ As you may be aware Governorship election in Edo State is at the corner and I am here this morning to interact with my state executive members.”
On his level of preparedness, the APC governorship hopeful for the 2016 Edo Gubernatorial Election said “ I am fully ready to face my party members at the primary election.
I have confidence in the Leadership of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, party executives and all other members of APC in Edo State in the conduct of free, fair and transparent Primaries where the people can choose who rule over them”.
On his mission to Edo State Government House, Maj-Gen Airhiavbere (Rtd) was quick to mention that he would leverage on his years of experience in the Army to further enhance the infrastructural development of the state.
He said “if elected in the primaries to fly the banner of the All Progressive Congress (APC), I will bring about economic development, strengthen educational institutions and promote socio/cultural advancement of the state.
He however expressed joy for the warm reception accorded him by members of the state executive of the APC and Promised to Stand and defend the party objectives at all time.
It would be recalled that Maj-Gen Charles Airhiavbere was the main opponent of the present governor, comrade Adams Oshiomhole in 2012 governorship election.
