Abuja –  The All Progressives Congress (APC), Chairman in Rivers, Mr Davies Ikanya , on Tuesday in Abuja said Gov. Nyesom Wike was running government outside the Nigerian constitution.
Ikanya, who made the allegation while addressing newsmen at the party national secretariat, said this against the backdrop of the Rivers State House of Assembly’s refusal to swear in Mrs Victoria Nyeche as a member.
It would be recalled that a Dec. 23, 2015 Court of Appeal judgment upheld the election of Nyeche to represent Port-Harcourt I constituency of Rivers in the assembly.
It would also be recalled that a certificate of return was issued Nyeche, a member of APC, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Ikanya said: “It is very pathetic what is happening in Rivers State now. The PDP Governor in Rivers State seems to be running a country of his own.
“He does not obey any part of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He gives his own rules, he has his own set of laws and he does not bother about the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.’’
“You knew what happened during the election. It was very sad that the election could go the way it went in Rivers State.
“You can see an election concluded and five days after, the result would be announced and some other results are not announced,” he said.
