A middle-aged man, Godwin Oriakhi, has escaped assassination attempts by some miscreants suspected to have been sponsored by his uncle over his late father’s properties which he (Godwin Oriakhi) inherited from his late father which his uncle wanted to take by force.
It would be recalled that Godwin Oriakhi, had been battling to survive the various threats from his uncle for the purposes of relinquishing his interest in the properties which he inherited from his late father which was done in line with the Benin native law and custom.
The Nigerian Observer, gathered that the said Godwin Oriakhi curiously took possession of all these properties without any problem, but that his uncle was never comfortable with the development, hence he openly threatened to deal with him, even though, he Godwin Oriakhi has a right to a peaceful inheritance
Speaking with journalists, the mother of Godwin Oriakhi, Mrs. Rose Oriakhi said that all efforts by the larger family members to amicably resolve the impasse, did not yield the expected result as the said uncle, who was bent on forcefully taking the properties from her son, vowed to ceaselessly apply any mechanism to achieve his dastardly minded desires.
She said that to make good his threats against her son, on the 26th May 2016, while her son was coming from his musical DJ show, some assassins allegedly hired by his uncle waylaid him at the Ikpoba river by the Upper mission road extension and he was lucky to have escaped and not satisfied with the trend, his uncle allegedly displayed an act of principal actor by openly saying that he is going to take the properties by force after he might have succeeded in killing Godwin Oriakhi.
Mrs. Oriakhi said that since then, the whoreabout of her son, had remained unknown, but adding that the trauma created by the attack was till lingering in their mind, but appeal for his protection to save his life.
