ADAMAWA: No fewer than a total of 55 persons have been confirmed dead in the spate of attacks in April, 2016 by members of the dreaded Boko Haram sects in the North Eastern part of Nigeria in Magali local government in Adamawa State, a police spokesperson has confirmed.

“I can confirm that a total of 55 people, including women and children, have so far been killed in attacks on Magali Local Government including neighboring Gulak Community and Michika village in Adamawa State by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, state police spokesperson, Autin Eze, told pressmen.

“Several others were injured in the gun and machete attack” he also said all causalities recorded in April including the recent village attack in the local government brings the total number of the victims of Boko haram attacks in the community to 55.

Also speaking with pressmen, a community leader from the area, Audu Suleiman, gave a death toll of over 50 from all the attacks.

“Over 50 people have so far been killed in the month of April in my community in this local government after this recent early morning attack including a young mother Identified as Jemilla Abubakar and her two children, Salim Abubakar, Ahmed Abubakar.

” The gunmen came in large numbers, all armed with AK47 rifles” he told pressmen.

He also said women and children were among those killed. He said that the recent killing in the community which was in chaos as men, women and children fled for their lives, has led to the death and disappearance of a lot of people in the community.

“Like a particular family that I am very familiar with in Gulak area in Magali local government , whose head of the family, Mr. Sunday Iluobe and family members were killed after their home was attacked with others managing to escape with injuries. I have not been able to locate the where about of the family if there are any survivors amongst them “he added
