BENIN CITY – The Center for Development and Cultural Interchange (CDCI) a non-governmental organization (NGO) has endorsed Godwin Obaseki for Governor in the forth coming APC Primaries and the subsequent gubernatorial election on September 10th, 2016.
The grassroots NGO which has trained over 5,000 university graduate teachers in public secondary schools across the 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State released a press statement in Benin City on the 10th of May 2016 signed by Mr. Emmanuel Sule, the Executive Director of the organization.
According to the statement, Godwin Obaseki as Chairman of the Economic and Strategy Team, has demonstrated his ability to continue with the development and industrialization process initiated by the administration of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
“His achievement as part of the Oshiomhole government, include the establishment of the Azura Power Plant worth over One (1) Billion United States Dollars (USD), the Dangote Cement factory at Okpella worth One (1) Billion United States Dollars (USD) and the establishment of the largest Rubber Plantation project in Nigeria at Sokponba in Orhiomwon LGA. These industries would create jobs for over half a million (500,000) unemployed Edo Youths.
“These achievements gave us no other choice than to support him in his ambition to become the next governor of Edo State. So that he can continue and improve on the industrialization process by establishing more industries in each local government area, and completely eradicate unemployment from Edo State.
“In addition to his industrialization posture, our commitment to support him is because we know he will focus on promoting economic growth that would lead to wealth creation for market women and men, farmers and other business owners, as well as social development, improved health care, education and agricultural development.
“By endorsing him, we are also going to mobilize our supporters in the 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and all Edo Youths to work for the success of this great man to become the next Governor of Edo State.
“We also want to use this medium to call on all APC delegates in the 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) to support Godwin Obaseki in the forthcoming APC Primaries because he is the best candidate with the capacity to transform Edo State.”
