BENIN CITY- A friendly march between Ogida and Teacher’s House Football Clubs was stopped half way into the first half of the game by the referee Christopher Odia as two of the players colluded mid air as they both jumped to head the ball.

The referee stoped the game in the 53rd minutes as he called in the medical teams from both club to attend their players lying flat on the ground after the collision.

Andrew Akhigbe Ogbeide sporting Jersey number 15 for Ogida Football Club and Iwinosa Iyamu who is on Jersey number 24 for Teachers House Football Clubs both laid motionless on the ground after the collusion as medical teams from both Club battle to revive them on the porch.

The 21,000 capacity football field went silent as the medical teams struggle to revive the payers. Andrew Akhigbe Ogbeide stood up after about 20 minutes but an ambulance was brought in to the field of play to rush Iwinosa Iyamu to the hospital.

It was gathered that Iwinosa Iyamu of Teacher’s House Football Club was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital by the doctor on duty. Andrew Akhigbe Ogbeide could not complete the game as he was substituted. The news of the sad development got to the players after the end of the game at full time with both club playing a 2-2 draw.

Investigation revealed that as the news of the death of Iwinosa Iyamu filtered into town, his family and friends mobilized and attacked the family members who could not produced him to the angry protesters.

His elder brother Godday Omokhodion Ogbeide who came from the United Kingdom was also injured. His mother Lucy Omosefe Ogbeide was not spare either.

As heat of Iwinosa’s death rages on, policemen were on the trail of Andrew Akhigbe Ogbeide for his involvement in homosexual act purnishable by law as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution as those found guilty are sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.

It was gathered that Andrew Akhigbe Ogbeide and one Amos Osarodion were caught in the act pants down in an hotel (namewitheld) having sex but Andrew was able to escaped while Osarodion was arrested and taken to the station.

Investigation revealed that the homosexual crime was Committed by Andrew and Osarodion a day before the football incident that threw the entire community in to confusion and sorrow.

The police who were on the trail of Andrew for the shameful and aborminable act of homosexuality were shocked to hear of the incident involving Andrew and Iwinosa but notwithstanding vow to arrest him and make him face the punishment of the crime which is 14 years imprisonment.

Mean while, report had it that since the family could not produce Andrew, the angry mob set the family house on fire but for the quick intervention of the police who were still on ground they would have lynch his mother who refused to run to safety like other family members as the angry crowd vowed to avenge the death of their friends and brother Iwinosa Iyamu.

The Edo State sports Council has called for calm as police is investigating the issue as the family has called on Nigerians and relevant security agencies to come to their aid as what happen in the field of play was accidental and Andrew has not also been found to state his own side of the story in the homosexual allegation.
