USELU : A middle – aged man, Onaiwu Osas is currently on the run after he was caught committing acts of homosexuality with another man in his Anigboro neighbourhood.

Onaiwu Osas, 26, is alleged to be living a double life as a bi-sexual which is unacceptable in Benin land while acts of homosexuality is punishable under the Nigerian law.

Our reporter gathered that Onaiwu’s illicit sexual life had gone unnoticed for years as he is believed to have maintained a normal sexual relationship between a man and a woman.

The cat was however let out of the bag recently when Onaiwu Osas was allegedly caught in broad daylight committing sodomy with a.male accomplice in his residence on Anigboro street, Uselu.

The two gay suspects were severely beaten by angry residents and later handed over to the leader of the Vigilante in the area.

The NIGERIAN OBSERVER however , learnt that Onaiwu and his partner escaped from the custody of the local Vigilante while being taken to the police station for probable prosecution.

Their reported escape caused consternation in the entire Anigboro community as the suspects were expected to appease the gods for defiling the land with the possible consequences of evoking their wrath and that of the ancestors upon the community.

An elder of Anigboro community, Pa Fred Okoro said the two suspects had committed an abomination act and as such, they face the consequences of paying dearly with their lives.

“This community and indeed, any other community in the Great Benin Kindom, abhors illicit sexual behavious such as bi- sexuality and homosexuality. Anyone who commits such abominations must first appease the gods , and if he is lucky to survive the rigours of the rituals , before he can be handed over to the police.

“In this, they were did not appease the gods neither were they handed over to the police for prosecution. So you can see that we are all angry and we will make sure that the culprits pay dearly for this abominable act in Anigboro community “, Pa Okoro told our reporter.

The NIGERIAN OBSERVER further scooped that following a formal report made to the police by the Elders and youths of Anigboro community, the police in Benin City have declared Onaiwu Osas wanted for sodomy.

A police bulletin in Benin City urged members of the public with any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect to report to the nearest police station within or outside Edo State.

Onaiwu Osas and his unnamed partner stand the risk of spending fourteen years in prison if found guilty by the law court.
