BENIN CITY – The Police in Benin City, Edo State have set machinery In motion to unravel the circumstances leading to the onslaught on members of a family in Benin City, Edo State.

It was gathered that the onslaught was targeted at one Hon. Pastor Eriaremien Dennis of No. 11 Osarodion Street, Benin City.

It culminated in his death and the setting ablaze of his property, including his church, cars and other personal belongings by yet to be identified persons.

It was gathered that the yet to be identified persons had stormed the house, ostensibly to kill one Eriaremien Christopher, a dreaded cultist.

When it became apparent that they could not find him, they became furious and therefore killed his father, Hon. Pastor Eriaremien Dennis and his elder son, Eriaremien Matthew, before setting ablaze the church and other property.

No one has been able to ascertain or identify the cause of the ungodly act since the incident happened on May 7, 2016.

However, The Nigerian OBSERVER scooped learnt that the late Eriaremien may have offended some powerful interest, as a member of some violent groups in Benin City and its metropolis.

Meanwhile, members of the family resident in the house are said to have relocated and gone into hiding following threat by the asaillants to wipe out traces of the family from earth.

Few days after the onslaught in their home, elder son of the Late Eriaremien, was said to have been murdered in cold blood, with a written left on his chest.

While authorities of the Nigeria Police says they have spread their dragnet to arrest the perpetrators, a source close to the family said that nothing has been heard from the Eriaremien widow or his other two children.
