FEBRUARY 2016 will forever remain an indelible mystery in the history of the entire South-East Of Nigeria as sounds of gunshots enveloped the air, leaving residents particularly in Onitsha, Aba of Anambra and Abia States to shiver and panicking.

It was scooped that the people initially thought the sounds was coming from the usual militants activities, but it was no to be as it was down on the people that the Federal Military troop were on wild rampage in the ever-busy Aba-Onitsha Road.

The incident our Crime Correspondent gathered claimed scores of lives, while unestimated numbers were captured and reminded to prison custody.

According to multiple sources closed to the development, some of the arrested Indigenous People Of Biafra members including a middle aged man, Iyanga Joshua and his friends were said to have gathered in a certain Secondary school in Aba ahead of their planned protest before the army swooped on them.

Iyanga Joshua according to reports who narrowly escaped JTF arrest alongside with one of his two friends as the other was killed by the army decided to leave his Aba family home owing to pressure on him on the need to take charge of the worshipping wooden idol gods in Aba alongside with his only surviving friend.

According to reports, Joshua was approached by Elders-In- Council (E.C), the decision making body of his community with a view to convincing him to perform the ritual rites so he could intermediate between the community and the people, which he, Joshua profusely refused, hence the torment, pressure and chase.

Joshua was said to have ran to Onitsha for cover but met with the worst situation due to the escalating confrontation between the Federal Government Joint Taskforce (JTF) and the pro-Biafra IPOB agitators.

The Pro-biafra protest it was gathered extended to Onitsha and other parts of the South East States in the country.

The situation it was scooped further led to counter confrontation in Onitsha on May 30-31, 2016 which led to killings, mayhem and arresting pro-biafra agitators, including Iyanga Joshua and his friend whom were taking refuge in Onitsha.

The incident has further triggered fear, apprehension, tears and emotions in the land as many have been displaced.

As at the time of filing this report, there seemed to be no end in sight as both the military and the Pro-biafra warlords declared no retreat, leaving everyone in the area to scampering for safety and cover in an unknown different locations within the continent and beyond.
