Egor:-The former Chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Mr. Osaikhuwomwan Napoleon has been murdered in cold blood at his residence at No. 7 Osakwe Street off Eweka Egor Benin City.
The Chairman have had a running battle with the government over embezzlement and use of thugs to intimidate is opponents, a situation which the Government the day frowns at.
It was reported that on one occasion, some government officials clashed with the supposed thugs of the Chairman, and this led to the death of one person, leaving several others wounded with various degrees of injury.
His killing came after Mr. Osaikhuwomwan was removed from office as the local government Chairman.
It was gathered that the assailants stormed his residence at about 1am and killed him in cold blood, while his 20years old son escaped by the whiskers.
According to the wife ” they came for my husband and son, but thank God my son Jerry was able to escape, the grief would have been too much for me”
As at the time of filing this report the where about of Jerry Osaikhuwomwan remains unknown as speculation in some quarter’s is that the killing might be politically motivated as nothing was removed or taken from his house.
The matter is presently being investigated by the Police, and his remains evacuated to the mortuary pending the outcome of investigations.
