ABUJA – President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of his Special Adviser on Planning, Mr Ben Akabueze as the new Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation.
This is even as he forwarded a list of 47 career foreign service officers as ambassadors-designate to the Senate of the Federal Republic for confirmation.
A press statement yesterday by the president’s spokesman Femi Adesina stated that Mr. Akabueze will take over from Mr Tijani Mohammed Abdullahi who will now serve as Special Adviser to the President on Planning and will continue to work with the Minister of Budget and National Planning.
Both Messrs. Akabueze and Abdullahi joined the Ministry of Budget and National Planning in February this year.
Also in his letter to the President of Senate, Sen. Bukola Saraki, President Buhari asserted that the list was forwarded in compliance with Section 171(1)(c) sub-section 4 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
