A 40yr-old man, Richard Efe Igbinoba, who was the personal assistant to a Benin based politician and a farmer, Mr Festus Osazuwa, was allegedly murdered in cold blood by unknown gunmen with his driver along Benin-Lagos expressway, has gone into exile after narrowly escaping death.
The Nigerian Observer gathered that the relatives of the deceased politician have desperately gone in search of the Personal Assistant to their brother, who according to information made available was seeking refuge in Ugbogu Community.
It was said that after the gunmen’s attack which claimed the lives of both the Politician and his driver on May 5, 2016, Richard Efe Igbinoba who narrowly escaped death returned to Benin City to report the incident of the Boss’s attack to the Police and also to the family of the deceased.
According to a reliable source from the deceased family, who claimed anonymity about the death of the politician, the P.A. is alleged to be a suspect.
It was further gathered about two months later that some unidentified gunmen suspected to be cultists in the service of the deceased politician located him at the Ugbogu Community and whisked him away in their vehicle, far away where they had dug a shallow grave to bury him alive.
However, for the timely intervention of some Hunters, whose several gunshots in the nearby forest scared the unknown gunmen, whose scampered for safety thereby attracted the attention of the hunters who rescued Richard Efe Igbinoba.
He has however rescued and administered treatment by the hunter before he went extinct to an unknown destination for safety.
As to now, the whereabouts and the safety of Richard Efe Igbinoba remain largely unknown. And all efforts to locate his grandmother, Mrs. Esther Igbinoba and Richard Efe Igbinoba’s two kids, Jessica and Wisdom Igbinoba have so far proved abortive.
