IGUEBEN- Apprehension over the whereabouts of a 17 year-old boy has gripped residents of Igueben town, the administrative headquarters of Igueben local government area of Edo State.

It was gathered that the teenager Victor Azenabor was last seen in the community on July 5, 2016 after he complained to have received death threats from notorious members of two dreaded cult groups operating in Nigeria.

Residents said that Victor Azenabor lost his father in the bomb blast that claimed many lives at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, Suleja, near Abuja in December 25, 2011.

It was also learnt that his mother has been incapacitated following injuries she sustained in the same attack.

The teenager was said to have after the sad incident returned to his ancestral home, Igueben.

Contacted, his paternal uncle Mr Peter Azenabor who claimed to have been taking care of Victor since he forcefully relocated from Abuja, grieved over the misfortunes that have befallen his little nephew.

Mr Peter expressed disappointment at the impunity which the cult members unleash violence on their victims just as he blamed security agencies for their inactivity.

The Public Relations Officer for Edo State Police Command DSP Stephen Onwochei confirmed the operation of cult groups in the area but blamed the locals for not providing actionable intelligence.

DSP Onwochei who condemned series of violence the groups have unleashed on innocent Nigerians solicited for information that would assist the police in arresting the criminals.

He however confirmed receiving report of one Victor Azenabor a teenager whose whereabouts remain unknown after handing a death threat by some cultists.

“The command has been briefed by the divisional police officer in the area.

“We are not spirits, they know themselves, they should furnish us with information that will lead to their arrest”. The police PRO stated.
