BENIN CITY- A socio-Cultural and farmers’ group, Otu-Edoseghe, has endorsed the All progressives Congress, (APC) Candidate in the September 10, 2016 governorship Election in the state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

Chairman of the group and Esogban of Benin Kingdom, Chief David Edebiri who disclosed the position of the group at a news conference in Benin City said the group’s membership is drawn from amongst farmers and traders of Benin extraction in the seven Local Government Areas that constitute Edo South Senatorial District.

According to him, Otu-Edoseghe is a non-political, but actively participate in elections that produce quality leadership for people in the area of good governance.

He disclosed that, after quitting partisan politics, he found it expedient to intervene in the politics of Edo State by producing credible leaders, being a prominent chief in Benin kingdom.

He noted that haven listened to manifestoes presented by the APC governorship candidate, especially, in view of his commitment to the administration of Governor Adams Oshiomhole which culminated in massive transformation of the state, it became very necessary to support him (Obaseki) who had been part of the success story.

Chief Edebiri also said that Obaseki’s grand father played a significant role to increase the economic potentials of the kingdom during the Benin Divisional council under the British government, expressing optimism that he (Godwin) would replicate the feat recorded by his grand father.

To Edebiri, to sustain the achievements recorded by Governor Oshiomhole, there was need to vote and support Obaseki.
He assured Godwin Obaseki of his group’s supports and commitment to enable APC win the governorship election.
