…Vows to Approach Court for Libel
Family of Late Mr. Efemena Ariemor of Warri in Warri Central Local Government Area of Delta State, has lambasted the authorities of the Nigeria Police, Warri Area Command and the family of the deceased politician, for alleging a case of murder of a popular politician, Patrick Ogbule, last month (July 31, 2016), against their son, Sunday
Ariemor without carrying out proper and diligent investigations to unravel the circumstances, just as they have vowed to proceed to court to institute libel case against them for assassinating the character of their son in this regard.
It would be recalled that Mr. Patrick Ogbule was shot dead while he was returning home from a political meeting of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, by unknown gunmen.
Speaking with Crime Reporters during investigation, a family source who spoke on the condition of anonymity but refused to disclose his identity for fear of attack, denied their son’s complicity in the murder of the very famous politician in the locality, saying the only period their family had an encounter with the deceased politician was when in sometime ago, their late father Mr. Efemena Ariemor, borrowed the sum of N30 million from him to pursue his ailing business frontiers.
The source said that during the finalisation of the loan deal, his eldest son, Sunday Ariemor, signed as witness and guarantor to his late father without any encumbrances, saying no sooner late Mr. Efemena Ariemor, took the loan than he died suddenly.
The source maintained that barely few days of the death of the debtor, the said deceased politician started troubling Sunday Ariemor, to pay the debt which he signed as witness and guarantor for his late father, even when it was absolutely clear that he was in a mourning mood.
He noted that the ceaseless demand for the payment of the loan snowballed into hot arguments between the deceased politician and Sunday Ariemor, even though he (Sunday Ariemor) was begging for time to consider how he could be gradually paying the debt, but the late politician continually pays deaf ear to his pleading, adding that on
the fateful day, the deceased politician, who had been previously gossiped in the locality to have stepped on toes of some other big politicians in the state over leadership tussle, was abruptly shot dead and in exercise of their fallacious and unsubstantiated allegations, the family of the deceased politician, who without recourse to their late brother’s political characteristic differences, alleged that their politician brother was killed by Sunday Ariemor and as such drafted in the police by saying that their late brother could be killed to stop, the payment of N30 million loan collected by the late father of Sunday Ariemor.
The source pointed out that to further worsen a situation which was already bad, the police hurriedly launched manhunt and declared Sunday Ariemor wanted over an alleged case he knew nothing about, just simply because his late father collected loan from the late politician.
The source explained that due to high level of corruption in the country and coupled with the facts that the Federal Government is controlled by the APC which the late Mr. Patrick Ogbule belongs to as a member in Delta State level, Sunday Ariemor escaped to avoid either being lynched to death or prosecuted unjustly, insisting that the
police suspected to have been bribed, have vowed to continually search for him so that he could be jailed for a case he never committed.
He insisted that the other family members of Sunday Ariemor are now living in a palpable fear of reprisal attack over the escape of their son, hence they appealed for justice, noting that as at press time his whereabout remains unknown.
