A woman ,Blessing Jeffery and and her two children in Benin are reportedly on the run for their lives after cultists allegedly gunned down her husband ,mother in the state over cultism related activities.
It was gathered that the killing of her mother, Kate Jeffery by cultists , has however torn the family apart as a step brother of Blessing Jeffery and his secret cult friends are also on the trail of his sister and two children for allowing those after her husband to murder his mother.
The Nigerian Observer learned that the cultists who gunned down Blessing Jeffery’s husband were reportedly after him as they wanted to get him initiated into the cult .
Reports in Ekosodin community after he was murdered indicated that he was initially wooed by the members of the dreaded black axe who desperately wanted him ,but was gunned down after it was gathered he knew so much about the group he was not willing to fraternise with.
The cult killings which led to the gruesome murder of Blessing Jeffery’s husband in Ekosodin village in Ovia North-East local government area has led to many killings as more casualties have been recorded.
Reports in the community revealed that the cultists after the murder, seemingly threatened to return for Blessing and her two children who later disappeared from the community to an undisclosed location
According to sources in the family who spoke on condition of anonymity,the several cult killings in the family took a different twist when the cultists went after other members of the family, killing Blessing Jeffery’s mother in Ugbogiobo village when the cultists could not get hold of her and her two children.
However, as the threat to life continues to tear the family apart , every member of the family lives in perpetual fear in the state as they have all gone into hiding to avoid been tagged for killing by the rampaging cultists.
Meanwhile the police in Edo state said it was currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the gruesome killings of members of the family of Blessing Jeffery in Ekosodin and Ugbogiobo ,as it has assured that its officers are on the trail of the cultists who carried out the dastardly act with a view to arresting and prosecuting them for murder.
