Benin – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the training of agents of all the 19 political parties that have fielded candidates for the forthcoming Sept.10 gubernatorial election in Edo.
The INEC Public Relations Officer in Edo, Mrs Prisillia Sule, made the disclosure in an The Nigerian Observer in Benin on Friday.
Sule said the commission was partnering with the International Republican Institutes (IRI) to conduct polling agent training.
She said the training would expose all the polling agents to fully understand election process.
Meanhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has accredited 44 observer groups for the Sept.10 gubernatorial election in Edo.
The INEC Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs Prisillia Sule, confirmed this in Benin on Saturday.
Sule said the commission accredited 37 domestic observer groups and seven foreign observer group that would participate in the poll.
The spokesperson, however, urged all the accredited groups to deliver credible and reliable information to members of the public during and after the election coverage.
