IKEJA- A High Court in Lagos State has dissolved the marriage between Ehigie Monday and Ehigie Onia Joy following a petition filled in the honourable court by Barrister Felix Michaels on the order of his client (Ehigie Monday).

Barrister Michaels during an exclusive chat with our Correspondent, noted that his client took the decision to end the marriage due to irreconcilable differences and lack of love between them. The marriage is blessed with two children.

The high court judgement paper titled: ” Decree Nisi Dissolution of marriage” made available by Barrister Michaels, shown that the proceeding of the case took some months before the dissolution verdict was reached by the court after taken oral evidence from the petitioner’s solicitor in support of the petition filled in the court and the respondent refusal to appear in court despite series of notification.

Meanwhile, the custody of the children was granted to the respondent, while the petitioner has access to them, just as the court advised them to ensure peace and order whenever both parties meet.

The court ruling in part: “Upon this petition coming up before this honourable court this 20th day of October, 2016. And this court having taken oral evidence from the petitioner solicitor in support of the petition filled in this court and the respondent not appearing in court, this court doth this day ordered that judgement be and same is hereby entered to the effect that the marriage solemnised st Lagos Marriage Registry, Lagos State, on 19th day ,2012 between Ehigie Monday (Petitioner) and Ehigie Onia Joy (Respondent) be and is hereby dissolved on the grounds of irreconcilable differences and lack of love”.

The judgement paper was dated 20th day of October, 2016 and was stamped and signed by Assistant Chief Registra – T Olabisi for the Commissioner for oath, Lagos State High Court, Igbosere Judicial Division.
