URIWA – A young man simply identified as Okoeguale Ogbemudia Andrew is currently on the run having being caught engaging in sexual intercourse with a fellow man.
He was caught in the act of homosexuality with his partner called Michael Darlington in an uncompleted building at about 8.30 p.m. on October 28, 2016 at Uriwa community in Esan South East Local Government Area, Edo State.
Nemesis caught up with Okoeguale Ogbemudia Andrew and Michael Darlington when information about both of them having sex in an uncompleted building got to the elders of Uriwa and they immediately ordered the youths in the community to bring Okoeguale Ogbemudia Andrew and Michael Darlington out and apprehend them in the process.
Speaking with crime reporters, an elder in Uriwa community, Elder Okorowa Isidahomhen said: “When we got the information about their sinful deed, the elders asked the youths to swing into action and subsequently apprehend them.
“We the elders resolved to hand the duo over to the police, because, it is a taboo in our community, Elder Isidahomhen said.
Narrating further, Isidahomhen disclosed that before the arrival of the police, the main actor (suspect), Okoeguale Ogbemudia Andrew escaped to an unknown destination leaving his fellow male sex partner, Michael Darlington who was handed over to the police who arrested and charged him to court.
Further investigation by The NIGERIAN OBSERVER shoed that Michael Darlington is currently serving a jail term of 14 years in line with the criminal justice system in the country for any offence of this status.
Elder Okorowa Isidahomhen revealed that apart from the jail term, Michael Darlington would be made to perform some traditional rituals in the shrine of the community in order to cleanse the land while Okoeguale Ogbemudia Andrew that is on the run has been declared wanted by the Police and elders of the community to enable him face the wrath of his misdeeds, especially as it is a taboo for a man to have sex with his fellow man in the community.
