…As Military Trails Him For Sudden Disappearance

OGHU (Ewohimi, Edo State) – The authorities of the Nigerian Police in conjunction with the king and elders of Oghu, Ewohimi community have declared one Osunde Fidelis wanted over his unmasking the secret of Ogboni Confraternity ritual cult group, where his late father, Pa Osunde Charles and his wife, held sway before his demise.

Speaking with our crime correspondent, an elder of the Community, who equally doubles as a traditional and Spiritual Head of the Community said that trouble started with the said Osunde Fidelis, immediately his father died.

The source who does not want to disclose his name, said that as the preparation for the funeral rites was in top gear, the King mandated some elders to inform the son of the deceased of the pending agreement reached on the April 15, 2001 that introduced Osunde Fidelis to the cult group, his mother and the leadership of the Ogboni ritual cult group on the need for Osunde Fidelis to be initiated, being the eldest son of his parents.

The source said that for running away from his community, he violated the measures and agreement by his parents, to make him assume the leadership position, which his late father hitherto held, the source said.

“Osunde Fidelis was expected to perform the ritual sacrifice and indulge in certain traditional heritage by drinking concoction during the initiation rites”, the source added.

The source further added that the elders continually reminded him of the initiation taken to the palace until he attains the age of 35yrs before he could be allowed to assume the leadership position of his late father.

It was discovered that his mother who is equally a member of the cult supported the idea for his son to be initiated following the earlier agreement

According to family source, his mother, Mrs. Osunde said her son would come back to take over his position, enthusing that her son is blessed with a spiritual power even more than his late father.

In a related development, the authorities of the Nigerian army had also declared Osunde Fidelis wanted over his sudden disappearance from the Military Joint Task Force detailed to fight Boko Haram insurgents in Gudumbali, Borno State since November 18 2015.

The Military source maintained that the authority of the Nigerian army has vowed to fish Osunde Fidelis out to enable him face the full wrath of his ineptitude.

As at the time of filing in this report, the whereabouts of Osunde Fidelis is not ascertained.
