BENIN CITY -.The Edo State Police Command have intensify it search over the whereabouts of a gay suspect, Robinson Iyamu, who escaped from Police custody in Abuja, where he was taken to Court to stand trial for his alleged involvement in same sex crime.
According to information gathered by our news crew, Robinson and his gay partner, were caught in a hideout on December 7, 2016, making love. The person that saw them performing the abominable and unholy act raised alarm that attracted other people. The lovebirds were given the beating of their lives, before they were eventually handed over to the Police.
Investigation reveals that Robinson, who hails from Benin City, Edo State and his gay partner (named withheld) were detain in by the Police in Benin City. The family of Iyamu disassociated themselves from their son, Robinson for his forbidden and disgraceful action.
It was gathered that his father, Pa Iyamu, a polygamist, developed heart problem because of the shame and disgrace, his son brought to the family.
He was transfer to the federal capital territory, Abuja pending his trial date at the court, where he escaped with the help of a senior Law Officer.
Robinson Iyamu’s whereabouts is unknown and he has been declared wanted by the Police for homosexuality.
Same sex activity is a Federal Offence. Section 214 criminalizes “carnal knowledge” against the order of nature with a penalty of fourteen years imprisonment. It applies to sexual intercourse between men. Section 215 criminalizes attempts to commit the offence prohibited under Section 214 prohibition.
