BENIN CITY – Two siblings, Chinedu Ubiagba and her brother, Godspower Ubiagba are presently on the run after they allegedly murdered one Jeffery Welela, son of their boss and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Goddy Welela in Benin City.
Prior to the incident in the afternoon of February 25, 2017, Chinedu and Godspower were said to be engaged as house help by Hon Welela.
They were said to be carrying out their daily house chores at Hon Welela’s residence, No 15 Third Junction, a stone throw from their residence when the incident occurred.
Jeffery allegedly died in a nearby medical facility where he was rushed to for medical attention following a head injury he sustained during the scuffle with Chinedu and Godspower, her brother.
They were said to have escaped when it became apparent that blood was gushing out from Jeffery’s injured head.
Although details of the cause of the scuffle was still sketchy as at press time, it was gathered that the scuffle was initially between Jeffery and Godspower who was almost overpowered before Chinedu joined in the scuffle.
It was reliably gathered that Jeffrey had returned from school on the day of the incident
As at press time, the whereabout of the Chinedu and Godspower could not be ascertained since their escape from the scene of the incident.
However, it was gathered that the Police authorities have since waded into the matter and have launched a manhunt for Godspower and Chinedu.
