The police in Edo State are investigating the gruesome murder of Mrs. Akowe Felicia who was found dead in cold blood yesterday following attack by cult groups in search of her son.

The Nigerian Observer learnt that the deceased who is the mother of Collins Omhenimhen, a Public Administration graduate of Auchi Polytechnic, between 2012 to 2014, was a victim of cultists who were looking for her son on March 2nd 2017

According to sources at Ebelle, in Igueben local Area of Edo State, the group of cultist stormed Mrs. Akowe Felicia’s residence looking for her son at about 11 am and when they could not find him, they inflicted several matchet cuts on her and she bled to death.

The Source further told newsmen that when the cultists got to the compound, they forced their way into the bedroom of the deceased who was shouting that she does not know the whereabouts of Collins when they demanded to see him.

“It was the shouting from her house that attracted attention of neighbors who called for help, but before help could come, the cultists had already left and when we went to the house we saw her in the pool of her blood.

“ Collins who is neither a member of the cult group has been on the run because they threatened to kill him anywhere they set their eyes on him and since then his whereabouts has been unknown,” the source added.

The remains of Mrs. Akowe Felicia have since been taken to the mortuary by the family.
