A  young man, Obaretin Evans Osemwengie ,in Benin city is on the run for his life over his refusal to accept the headship role occupied by his late father as a member of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity.
The Nigerian Observer was reliably informed by a source who did not want his name in print that trouble however started for the young man when members of the occult group lost their zonal head (Olowu Akpeno) in November 22,2016.
It was said that the death of a member of the occult group is always replaced with the first son of the deceased member which in this case was the turn of Obaretin Evans Osemwengie to take up his late father’s role.
The Nigerian Observer was also informed that the Christian faith of the embattled young man in addition with the crude method of initiation into the group which according to our source involves the use of human parts and making lacerations on human body were the obvious reasons for rejecting the membership of the group.
Members of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity according to our source informed Obaretin Evans Osemwengie of their plans to make him their head after the death of their zonal head and father of Obaretin Evans Osemwengie which he vehemently rejected.
The group according to our source on several occasions made efforts to persuade him to accept the role that he must be prepared for initiation but he openly refused prompting members to warn him with threats of mysterious death which will be caused by strange afflictions.
It is said that Obaretin Evans Osemwengie and his family went to his in-law’s house in other to run away from members of the group where they found him and caused so much problems for his father in-law by assaulting and attacking him with dangerous weapons.
It was however gathered that the embattled Obaretin Evans Osemwengie in other not to incur the wrath of the occult members ran to an undisclosed location with his family members and his whereabouts remain unknown till date.
The members of the occult group according to information gathered have sworn that it will not rest until they are able to get Obaretin Evans Osemwengie to occupy the the said role of Oluwo Akpeno (head role of the occult group )adding that his continued absence was a source of problems for the group in running its affairs in the community.
