Two middle-aged men,Kingsley Osariemen and Johnbull Odeh from Oza community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State have been declared wanted by the authorities of the Nigerian Police, Edo state Police Command, following their alleged involvement in gay practice, also known as homosexual.

The Nigerian Observer reliably gathered that they were apprehended while having anal sex by an elder and resident of Oza Village, Mr M. Akpega at about 10:30 PM penultimate week(20th March 2017).

Speaking with Journalists on the development, Mr M. Akpega noted that he heard a very strange noise in an uncompleted building close to his house, saying that he initially thought that they were miscreants who smoke Indian hemp but was surprised to see the gay partners in the illicit action.

He said that he had to quickly alert one of his neighbours Mr John One who secretly drew the attention of some youths in the area who swung into action and apprehended them.

He said further that as soon as they were held,the police was alerted and before the arrival of the police to the scene, they(Kingsley Osariemen and Johnbull Odeh) in connivance with one of the youths, escaped, since the gay practice is sacrilegious and the penalty apart from 14 years jail term proclaimed by law,there are other traditional sanctions associated with the act.

He explained that consequent upon their escape, the elders and police had declared them(Kingsley Osariemen and Johnbull Odeh) wanted to enable them face the full wrath of the law,adding that their actions are inimical to the social and traditional wellbeing of the people, especially in view of the social malady it might have caused the Benin Kingdom, which is regarded as a citadel of world culture and tradition.
