Uromi: Three suspects on awaiting trial yesterday escaped when they were being conveyed to the court for their case. The accident happened on Monday morning by angle 90 junction.

The three suspects namely Abraham Aragbonfo, Okosodo Kingsley and Okosun Frank are members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), at Irrua (Esan Central Local Government) representing Uwessan in Afuda Irrua. They have been on awaiting trial since 2015, after they were arrested on February 14th, two weeks to the Presidential election as political thugs suspected to have been hired to interrupt the election. They were taken to Benin for questioning and there after detained.

After three weeks of detention in Benin, they were charged to court and taken to Ubiaja prison custody as awaiting trial persons and have been in prison custody for the past two years until they escaped on their way to court yesterday.

Unlike the others, Frank Okosun operates a boutique in Irrua, and it was at his shop that men from the state command arrested him and whisked them away to Benin with the other two.

The Police have launched a full investigation into the matter and to uncover those who helped them to escape. They have also declared Abraham Aragbonfo, Okosodo Kingsley and Okosun Frank wanted.

A handsome reward awaits any body with useful information that will lead to their arrest.
