Enugu:- What is supposed to be a peaceful protest yesterday turned bloody when some members of Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) confronted the Men of the Nigerian Army during a nation wide protest match which took place at Nkerefi in Enugu, the South Eastern part of the country.

According to our correspondent, at about 4pm, the IPOB members staged a protest match to agitate the state of the country and thereby asking the government to grant them secession, they were abruptly attacked by soldiers who were there for Operation Python Dance. This resulted in commotion between the soldiers and the protesters, the soldiers swang into action and pounced on many of the IPOB members who tried to resist them.

It was gathered that while the shoot out lasted, many IPOB Protesters were killed. Some who resisted arrest are accused of inciting the public which is seen as a treason.

Those declared wanted includes Friday Chijioke, Onyeochukwu Ernest, Michael Njoku, Onyeka Nwaimo, Augustine Okoli, Okocha Julius, Lucky Onyekachi and Vincent Onyeka.
