BENIN CITY – The Edo State police command has declared one Anthony Marvellous wanted over the fight that broke out in June 2014 between him and some group of cultists suspected to be members of the most dreaded Aiye confraternity aka Black Axe at a popular bar(name withheld) in Benin city.
According to our correspondent as gathered from a report by the police command in which the police in 2018 officially declared Anthony wanted, the said Anthony had given one Clifford, a suspected member of the Black Axe cult a handset for repair and gave him part-payment.
It was further gathered that when Anthony discovered that the handset was still faulty, he met with Clifford at the bar where he told him about condition of the phone but Clifford insisted that his balance must be given to him with no sign of remorse.
The situation it was gathered degenerated into a hot argument which led to Clifford placing a call on his fellow cult members who immediately stormed the bar in commando-like manner and a serious fight ensued leading to the loss of about eight persons in the process.
Based on the apprehension and pandemonium arising from the incident, owner of the bar was said to have reported the matter at the nearest police station alleging that Anthony caused the ugly situation which prompted the security agents to stage a manhunt for him (Anthony) who managed to escape from the scene.
The situation which has created confusion, panic pandemonium and apprehension in the land has resulted in Anthony’s mother and brothers, William and Joy Marvellous deserting their home as a result of constant invasion by both the police and the the dreaded cultists and their whereabouts have not been known.
As at press time, the whereabouts of Anthony was still unknown.
