UGBOHA (ESAN NORTH EAST) – Armed men, suspected to be Fulani herdsman have murdered not less than five persons in an attack in two different locations in Edo State, while several others sustained various degrees of injury.

The locations are Ugboha-Amedokhian Road in Esan-South East Local Government Area and Odiguetue commiin immunity Ovia-North-East Local Government Area.

It was gathered that the three people killed on the Ugboha-Amedokhian Road were traders returning home from the Ugboha market when they were ambushed.

At Odiguetue, the attackers were said to have attacked the commmunity and killed two persons before escaping.

The killings were said to have generated tension in both communities as the inhabitants now live in fear

However, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Edo Command, Chidi Nwabuzo denied knowledge of the incident.

According to him, “We have Divisional Police Officer and the Area Commander in those areas and we have not received such information from them. Ian not aware of the incident.”

As at press time, the Edo Police Command was yet to make any statement on the matter.
