LAGOS :  it was a black weekend for two  gay suspects  who embarked on a kissing spree in public and subsequently incurred the wrath of  an irate mob penultimate Saturday.

One of them a Lebanese construction worker was  allegedly lynched by  the angry mob while the second a  Nigerian narrowly escaped death by the whiskers.

The incident was said to have occurred  in the evening of August 25, 2018  on Tokunbo street in the highbrow Lagos Island .

The NIGERIAN ONSERVER gathered that a  Lagos socialite  Dawodu Adebola popularly known in social circles as Ade Boy was attending his friend’s birthday  on that  fateful day and decided to invite his Lebanese friend who unknown to many was his gay partner.

Both men were said to have had a great time at the party before moving into a restaurant where they engaged in prolonged kissing which drew the ire of local residents.

The ugly scene created by their obscene act soon attracted the leader of street urchins popularly  known as “Area Boys” who dragged both suspects into the open street where they faced a mob action.

They were allegedly beaten with sticks and iron bars even as the suspects  ran around the area , trying to escape the wrath of the angry mob.

The Lebanese eventually fell and fainted while his Nigeria partner managed to escape  with severe bruises on his body.

Our reporter further scooped that the Lebanese was beaten to   a coma before the arrival of a police patrol team which  immediately rushed him to a nearby  clinic where he was pronounced death on arrival.

Meanwhile, the police have declared the Nigerian , Dawodu Adebola (aka Ade Boy) wanted for sodomy.

The Area Boys are also  reported to have launched a man hunt for the fleeing gay suspect as he is deemed to have defiled the land.

Same sex marriage or homosexuality is considered a taboo in Nigerian communities.

Offenders face the risk of not only traditional sanctions but also the possibility of death by mob action.

It is also a criminal offence and offenders are liable to  serve between 10 to 15 years in prison.
