IGBOKODA (ONDO STATE) – As the summer lessons organized for secondary school students in Igbokoda, administrative headquarters of Ilaje local government area of Ondo state came to a close last Friday, parents and beneficiaries has expressed appreciation to the sponsor.

The After-School lessons which took place during the school holiday was put together by Comrade Emmanuel Lebile, a Chairmanship Aspirant for the council in the forthcoming local government polls in the state.

A Junior Secondary School (JSS-2), Yemi Abisanbo who could not hide his joy, said he never expected to be engaged after his examination, as he usually play around with friends before the start of another academic session.

“Our Uncle (teacher) first shared free books for us before we start the lesson, and I am happy to be learning this holiday, I even invited my friends we play together. May God bless the sponsor”, Yemi said smiling.

Also, Deborah Abe, a senior secondary school student (SSS-3) said she never thought of it, adding the summer lessons had equipped her ahead of the forthcoming external examination

According to Deborah, “I never believed its free lessons until I started, and it has really impacted me, especially for my exams because the teachers were good in the subjects they thought us.”

However, a parent who decline to give her name and was full of praise for the sponsor, noted that when her daughter informed her of the development, she was surprise as it was first of it kind in the area.

“When she showed me the book they gave her, I thought it ended there, not until she told that she had started a lecture that those that shared the books organized. I had never seen this here (Igbokoda) before”, She told our correspondent.

However, according to the coordinator of the free lessons, Ifiriyele Kelly, the After-School programme captured more than 300 students in JSS and SSS classes and rounded off with a mock examination.

“There will be gifts for students that came first, second, and third respectively in their classes, though it is expected to be tough because I discovered there are brilliant students in the programme”, the coordinator added
